Selection process for the Inaugural Youth Olympic Games25th Feb 2010
Ron James has e-mailed me to highlight the selection process for the first Youth Olympic Games (for boys/girls born in 1993 or 1994). See this website:
www.uka.org.uk/world-class/2010-selection-policies/
The Youth Olympic Games selection policy is a pdf listed on that page.
Selection for The Games (Singapore 14-16 August 2010) is via a trials event - the European Youth Olympic Trials (Moscow 21-23 May 2010) for which UKA will select a team. Only one athlete per country per event can qualify for the Youth Olympic Games via the EYOT. The UK standards for consideration for selection for the EYOT are 67m boys (5kg) and 52.50 girls (4kg). Selection by UKA is in two phases - 1 March and 4 May. Further details on that UKA website.
